PICTURES & WORDS

OR HOW I LIKE TO PASS MY TIME

Thank you for dropping by. I have something to celebrate. Ten years in business!

I work as a commercial ILLUSTRATOR, producing art for editorials, book jackets, games, logos and other people’s stories. I also come up with my own stories and have written and illustrated nine published PICTURE BOOKS to this day.

My specialty is to create entertaining and slightly absurd coming of age comedies starring animal characters who struggle to be their better selves.

INSPIRATION AND EDUCATION
Growing up I was a big fan of everything created by Jim Henson, Richard Scarry and Charles Schulz. A late bloomer in just about everything I do, I was twenty five when I thought maybe illustration and storytelling is something I could do too.

I studied design, illustration and screenwriting and I am a graduate of the Glasgow school of Art, Kingston University, UCL and UCLA. I can’t get enough of learning and luckily there are many different media and formats I’d still love to try and so much I like to read and watch that I don’t think I will ever be bored.

TEACHING
I teach WORKSHOPS, which I like very much because it inspires me to be around people who want to learn, play and experiment.

ART-DIRECTION
Sometimes I enjoy telling people what to do so I founded a magazine called The Loop. I ART DIRECTED seven issues as well as a book for Thames and Hudson together with the very talented Eleanor Meredith.

COMMISSIONS
Would you like me to draw a picture for a million pounds? Yes, please. Don’t have that kind of money? Tell me my drawings are awesome, my ego is a fickle thing.

Thank you for reading and don’t forget to say hello!
